STEP 1. GET EDUCATED
Evaluate whether your business practices align with your corporate values. Or your personal values, for that matter. Perform a cost analysis: How much does your company spend on bottled water each year? How much would you save if you made a change? Do a little casual reading on the many ways plastic water bottles impact the environment. Check out a site like www.container-recycling.org/facts/plastic. Find out if the people in your company are up for trying something different.
STEP 2. DECIDE TO MAKE A CHANGE
That's it, just decide.
STEP 3. PLUMB IN FILTERED WATER
Evaluate each office location independently. Depending on tap water quality, the office may require a method called "Reverse Osmosis" (RO) to ensure good taste and proper filtration. Make both hot and cold filtered water available. Check out the flow rate. Then, do a little informal digging around to make sure you are doing what you need to do to make people happy and encourage improved hydration.
STEP 4. MAKE IT EASY FOR PEOPLE TO CHANGE
Tell people the benefits of hydrating differently. Make filtered water available at many locations throughout your office. Gift employees with a reusable bottle. At CamelBak, we gave everyone a CamelBak Better Bottle™ on which our company mission was imprinted, and we always make sure we have extra reusable bottles and nice glasses available for guests.
STEP 5. TELL US WHAT HAPPENED
We are curious. Very, very curious. Share your story with us at www.facebook.com/CamelBakTactical
