Rated 5 out of 5 by Snaffle from Better than anything out there Some would like to think this insulated tube will perform miracles. If you don't manage your tube hydration system in cold weather, it will freeze no matter whether you have this kit or not. If you are skiing at high elevations in the center of the continent, then you should already know that you need to hydrate from insulated bottles when the mercury drops. But this insulated tube and covered/insulated bite valve, in a winter-specific tube-integrated ski pack, is the best freeze protection you can set up for tube hydration. I have used it regularly all winter for over a decade; I just have to replace the bite valve every couple of seasons. Fill it with lukewarm water and periodically sip/blow and it will work most of the time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Tallows from Great if its not below 30 Degrees F Perfect addition to my Camelbak for cold temps, but not freezing temps. Unfortunately once it dropped below 30 Degrees on the mountain the insulation did basically nothing and the tube completely froze. Better than no insulation certainly but perfect it is not. Should have dropped some whiskey in it next time :)

Rated 1 out of 5 by MushroomJo from Still gets frozen in cold weather! I replaced my original reservoir tube with this "thermal control" tube for snowboarding AND IT HASN'T WORKED. Granted, the original tube would freeze faster, the thermal control tube and bite valve still freezes. I've used it for snowboarding the past month at varying temperatures (30 degrees, 20 degrees, and 7 degrees) and the tube froze at each temp. Thoroughly not impressed!
