Rated 1 out of 5 by Kemo from What a downgrade Camelbak took a big step backwards with this "update" from the previous design. I don't know about more flow, as this is definitely more difficult to drink from when compared to the prior model. I shouldn't have to "massage" the valve with my mouth to try to get it to open so I can drink from this (flow rate varies, so you have to manipulate the valve to open wider). The new design also flops around, whereas the old design latched into place. I'm very disappointed with the changes, these should never have made it into production.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Danquijote2 from Great new lid The bite valve on my older Camelbak bottle needed replacement. I contacted Camelbak through their website asking where I could buy a replacement. They let me know that the bite valve was no longer available but a new lid was available for $9.99 and free shipping. The even gave me a code for a discount. I think I paid about $6.50 for the new lid and it arrived fast. I own 5 Camelbak products, a bottle, 2 Mules, a Transalp and another small bladder back pack.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Nancy from Downgrade from previous design Because I read the reviews, I knew that I couldn't just buy replacement bite-valves, I had to buy a whole new cap/bite-valve/straw. Unfortunately, the new design does not lock in the open and closed positions, only in the closed position. It therefore, is much trickier to drink from. Too bad they "improved" it. There is no noticeable flow improvement. How could there be - the straws are the same width.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Holland from It’s gurgling noises spits water on me I boight this replacement A year ago and I use my Camelback about two times a day and it is now making the weirdest gurgling noises every single time I take a sip out of it. And also the mouthpiece has torn so much I can’t even drink out of it and whenever it moves it spits out water across the room and so I can’t bring you to school anymore for obvious reasons. I am in unsatisfied customer. Unacceptable. It had a good run I guess, but I expected better from you. Unacceptable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Petzo from Optional Internal Replacement Part Required This is a good product but I do feel that there should be the option to order the internal tube only as a replacement part as opposed to ordering a whole new cap and straw. I've experienced the gurgling etc as mentioned in other comments. I did further investigation and it looks like the internal straw has torn just under the lip. This probably occurred as a result of me removing the bite valve quite often to clean it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by SHoying from Same flow as before I needed a new water bottle because my old Eddy had been dropped and mishandled too much (and was old). I ordered this “new” model, and I’m highly disappointed that you can’t buy JUST replacement bite grip. I’m hoping the bite valve lasts longer than the old ones do. I don’t want to have to buy a whole new lid and straw. Seems wasteful.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Boyles Law victim from From no flow to overflow When I bought this water bottle, the cap was sealed shut allowed no flow when I tried to drink from it. To get flow, I used a pocket knife to open it up a bit to allow me to drink from it. It worked fine till I got on a plane and opened the cap to drink from it after take-off and --whoosh--the water sprayed me and my fellow passengers. Boyle strikes again! Anyway, now it appears the cap is out of stock and the nearest place to get one "locally" is two hours away. Thankfully, I won't be flying again anytime soon.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Gwyneth from Spout makes weird noises I bought this camelback water bottle with this spout a year ago and I use mine about two times a day and it is now making loud gurgling noises every single time I drink out of it . Also the bite piece is tearing and doesn’t work anymore. This causes it to leak. I can’t bring it to school anymore because Of this. It had a good run I guess but I expected more. Unacceptable. Very disappointed because I did like it but durability bad.
