2017

Year In Review

CamelBak had an exciting year in 2017! From creating a new event series and launching products to major athlete wins, we have a lot to celebrate and look forward to in the new year ahead!
Check out some of our highlights below.
CamelBak Pursuit Series
This year we teamed up with The Outbound Collective to host two, three-day outdoor events—one in the Bay Area, and another outside of Salt Lake City. Pursuit encourages you to get out of the norm and try something new in an unfamiliar place. We offered surfing and paddle board lessons, an archery course, mountain bike rides and much more. Pursuit also included intimate field sessions that are designed to help you learn essential outdoor skills in a fun, hands-on environment. Stay tuned in January 2018 for more news on our upcoming Pursuit Series!

Redbull Rampage
The Red Bull Rampage competition showcases the world's best mountain biker's skill, creativity and bravery in the remote landscape of Southern Utah. This was CamelBak's third year in a row participating in the event and sponsoring hydration.  We supplied the digging crews, athletes, media and attendees with fresh water throughout the event and the two week desert build up. In this harsh environment of heat, toil and dust, hydration plays a critical role. Maintaining the water supply lines in such a remote location proves to be a logistical challenge that few companies are prepared to handle. Our team was out there all day long making sure the course was wet and people stayed hydrated.
Ditch Disposable
One of CamelBak's missions is to reduce the use of plastic that ends up in landfills or oceans in our world. This year, CamelBak attended music festivals across the country and provided water refilling stations for those who chose to save the planet and ditch disposable. We traveled to Bottle Rock, Lollapalooza, and Austin City Limits and provided water to thousands of concert goers. At Lollapalooza we saved/poured 854,700 bottles worth of water in just 4 days!
Sip & Save
This Year's New Product Launches
2017 was a year of product innovation. We launched the new Crux reservoir which delivers 20% more water with every sip. Our LR (Low Rider) collection offers a lower center of gravity that gives our riders the stability and freedom to shred.

Athlete Highlights
Our CamelBak athletes are some of the toughest and determined in the world.  From running on unfamiliar, off-beaten paths to Chamonix or tearing it up in Whistler with world-class mountain bikers, our athletes' endurance never goes unnoticed. This year we have key highlights of CamelBak athlete wins that we would like to celebrate!
Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc
UTMB is the ultimate event for trail-runners from all over the world. With over 8,000 runners participating in this 103 mile race, CamelBak had four athletes place in the top 15!
  • 4th – Xavier Thevenard
  • 8th – Gediminas Grinius
  • 11th – Scott Hawker
  • 13th – Didrick Hermansen
CrankWorx
The best of the best descend on CrankWorx events each year, showing off some of the gnarliest riding the industry sees each year. This year we were back at CrankWorx in the middle of the action at both Rotorua and Whistler. Among the highlights, Tracey Hannah (a member of CamelBak sponsored Team Polygon UR) took home the gold in the downhill competition.
