With the 40 oz Chute® Vacuum, you can get a cold drink and a smooth pour, even in the backcountry. This vacuum-insulated bottle keeps liquids cold for 48 hours (even longer if you add ice), and hot for six. Plus, the cap snaps into the handle, so you can keep it out of the way as you pour. The sturdy, double-walled steel design keeps condensation from collecting on the sides of the bottle, and the powder-coat paint job adds some extra color. The narrow-mouthed opening also makes it easy to drink and pour without spilling, so you won’t waste a single drop. After all, nobody wants to end a long, hard day with a lukewarm drink.

  • Vacuum insulation keeps beverages cold for 48 hours and hot for 6 hours
  • Angled spout provides an ergonomic drink interface that delivers a high flow of water without sloshing or spilling
  • Spout cap snaps into handle to prevent it from getting in the way when drinking
  • Tether securely attaches the cap to the bottle for easy filling and refilling
  • Half turn cap gives you easy access to your water and the spout cap threads internally so there is no more drinking off those uncomfortable bottle threads
  • Cap assembly is top-rack dishwasher safe (hand wash vessel)
  • Wide-mouth opening is easy to fill with ice and water and a breeze to clean

Rated 2 out of 5 by from not made for the long run I have a 64OZ which I love but needed something smaller and easier to carry everyday. And yes I actually have been using this everyday since I bought it. From the house to work to the gym and home again and repeat. I found the chute and its great! Keeps the temp for the day, the right size to carry around everyday, for me, atleast. My ONLY exception for this bottle is that the screw cap (from the drinking spout) gets loose to often and I have only had this bottle for 1 month. It has leaked multiple times in my car and backpack. Its sad that the thing didnt last long. Pretty much the reason for the rating and would not recommend this to anyone.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I would buy again I use this product everyday. I upgraded from the 40 oz. Chute. I upgraded because I wanted to keep my liquids cold and I was annoyed with the Chute sweating everywhere, especially in summer months. I brought this to Disney with me in July and it kept my ice water cold for hours. Con: I was holding the bottle by the lid while filling it up and the lid slipped off. This caused it to call to the concrete and put a big dent in the side. I never experienced that with my Chutes. Overall: When I lose this Insulated Chute, I say when because I have left 5 regular Chutes in various airports this year, I will be buying another one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This water bottle is 96% perfectly engineered. This is by far the finest water bottle I've ever owned. (I've owned many, and some of them really nice, too.) Many features common to water bottles are implemented without much consideration to how they will be used in the field, making them indistinctive across lines or brands. But almost everything about this Camelback Chute model is clearly designed with the practical needs of the user in mind. 1.) It's a very sturdy, durable water bottle. Its stainless steel body is hefty and built to withstand virtually any terrain and environmental conditions you might find yourself hiking through. 2.) I love the vacuum insulated double-walled body. Sure it adds more weight to the bottle, but after several hours of hiking under a hot sun you'll be thankful your ice cold water is still as brisk and refreshing as when you first hit the trail. (I haven't tried it with hot liquids as I only use the bottle for warm weather hiking.) 3.) I love that the top of the steel canister is tapered. The circumference of the bottle overall may not make for a confident single-handed side grip, despite the non-slip powder coat on the lower 2/3rds of the bottle. But the tapered top makes it very easy and comfortable to crook a hand under the cap base and maintain a firm grip around the top of the canister without fear of dropping the water bottle. This also feels like the easiest position to tilt and drink from the bottle. (Note: the tapered canister top only applies to the 40 oz model. The 20 oz model features a smaller canister circumference and does not need this tapered top.) 4.) The finger grip behind the drink spout is large enough to accommodate two moderately sized adult fingers. This is handy (pun intended). I've had bottles with a finger loop that only allows for one finger, and I've had to routinely switch from one finger to another to alleviate strain on the knuckles. But this Chute two-finger grip distributes the weight more comfortably for longer carrying duration. This is especially important since the 40 oz Chute is a heavy bottle, and when fully laden, the combined weight makes for ~4 lbs of dead weight. That may not sound like much, but you'll sure feel it after a while. 5.) The half-turn spout cap is pretty great. It makes getting to the contents much more efficient and hassle-free. I've read some reviews elsewhere about this bottle that complain of pervasive leakage with the Chute cap, particularly with the wide-mouth base. This has not been my experience at all. The seal is firm. However I have noted that for some it may take a little getting used to the thread seating on the Chute cap. If you're not paying attention when threading the wide-mouth base. the cap could feel tightened but actually only be sitting crookedly into the threads, and have no sealed protection against leakage. 6.) This bottle is almost perfect, but only almost. The singular issue I have (and it's not a big deal) is with the way the spout cap tucks into the handle. I think the idea that the cap can be tucked away so it doesn't impede comfortable drinking is a pretty great idea. But even after a couple of weeks of regular use I still can't get it properly tucked in to the cap slot correctly on the first try. Sometimes not on the 2nd try either. (It makes me feel like when I'm trying to plug in a USB cable and getting it wrong the first 5 times in a row.) When I eventually DO get the cap properly tucked I feel like I've won a contest. I'm getting better at it, but I don't want to stop in the middle of my hike to try and figure out that elusive angle that will let the cap slide effortlessly into its cradle. I've got a design suggestion to improve the cap cradle that I plan to pitch to Camelbak. (I live near Camelbak HQ). An idea that will take this bottle from 96% perfect to the full 100% gold standard. Who knows. Maybe you'll see it in a followup model design. Until then, this 40 oz stainless steel Camelbak Chute is quite possibly the very best water bottle you'll find currently on the market, and I recommend it without hesitation.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from About as good as a QT cup I bought the 40oz. Chute in July. It got great reviews so that made my decision to purchase. I started using it right away when it arrived and I like the size, the spout is great. But it keeps ice water cold about as long as a QT cup. I talked to the warrenty department and really got no where with them. They said to go online and fill out the form. I did that and the only thing they showed wad the LID was available for warrenty. I'm sure it is a good jug and that I got a lemon, but get them to exchange it is impossible it seems. DuayneB

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best waterbottle Ever I use this product every day from school to soccer practice. it keeps water cold and i tested it too. I set the water bottle outside for 24 hours with 44 degree F water and 24 hours later it had only risen 5 degrees. Its the best bottle for the money unlike yeti.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent! I purchased this water bottle a week ago for my teenage, camp counselor daughter. I was a little skeptical at first that her water would not stay cold all day at the beach. I didn't need to worry because it stayed cold all day (8 hours!) She loves it and plans to use it not only for camp but for school and her sporting activities. I definitely recommend this!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Product This is a fantastic product for (at the time of writing this) $38.00 US. It holds plenty of water (or whatever else you want to put in it I guess) and whenever I put ice in it, it takes more than a day to melt. I really like how since it is insulated, the bottle doesn't sweat. It hasn't leaked on me so far, and I don't believe it will. All the seals are very well made and the quality is excellent. The only issue I have with this product, and what kept it from earning a 5-star rating from me is that when the bottle is full of ice water, and I toss it in my bag, it doesn't stay upright and therefore the liquid goes to the side a little bit right up against the lid of the bottle. I don't know why, but the plastic-rubber lid is not sweat proof and it really kind of bugs me. If the bottle has cold liquids in it, and it is not upright 100% of the time, the lid will collect condensation from the outside. A relatively minor detail overall, but while it does bug me, it does not take away from the overall experience. This bottle is great and I love it.
