Zoe Kalapos first learned to ski at age two and snowboard at age five, with instruction from her parents, in northern Michigan. To encourage Zoe’s favorite activity, her father built a snowboard park with a snowmaking gun, a rail, a box, and several jumps in their backyard. She and her brother Ian spent countless hours training on “Mt. Kalapos.” On weekends and holidays, the family made the trek to Harbor Springs to snowboard where winter lake-effect snow rarely disappointed.
At age 10, Zoe began competing in USASA (United States of America Snowboard and Freeski Association) events in slopestyle, boardercross, and halfpipe competitions. After winning her age group in all three disciplines she was invited to compete at USASA Nationals at Copper Mountain, Colorado.
During high school, she competed in halfpipe events throughout the world and in 2014, Zoe was invited to join the United States Snowboard Rookie Team for Women’s Halfpipe. A well-rounded individual, Zoe earned her bachelor’s degree in Marketing in 2021. When Zoe isn’t traveling or competing, she enjoys spending time in Michigan with her family and childhood friends and being an incredible Ambassador for CamelBak.
