Rated 2 out of 5 by DougB from Great idea, but the cap broke after 5 rides Great concept as my mountain bike only has a place for one bottle in the triangle, but can mount another outside. That bottle picks up dirt so thought this was perfect solution. Used it 5 times and on 5th ride I looked down and notice the cap cover was gone. Thus, it couldn't withstand 5 mountain bike rides.

Rated 1 out of 5 by clarks from A literal pain to use and clean I bought these bottles because the redesign was supposed to be easier to use and clean. While yes, the parts do come apart and are easier to clean once disassembled, the process actually hurts my fingers. I am not making a mountain out of a molehill here--turning the valve via the small wing arms hurts because the edges are too sharp, and the fit is too tight. The old version could be unlocked with one hand or with the bottle in the cage, but the new one is so tight that you have to hold the top in place so it does not come unscrewed while opening the valve. Taking the top apart to clean is even worse. Pushing the valve through the top requires you to again press your fingers against sharp plastic edges to force it through, and popping the retaining ring back in place when reassembling is equally painful. It would be one thing if this was just due to initial tight fit, but I have disassembled these bottles after every use to stay on top of keeping them clean, and they have continued to be a challenge. I would also chalk it up to an outlier with tight manufacturing tolerance, but I bought six of these bottles (two insulated 21oz, three standard 24oz, and one 21oz with dirt cap), and they are all terrible.

Rated 1 out of 5 by mtber from Valve too stiff to turn, taking apart is terrible. The form factor is better than the older Podium bottle. However the new rotating valve is way too hard to take apart and reinstall. The valve is also too hard to turn. With some plastic trimming and dremeling, the parts almost work as they should have when I bought them. This was either designed by recent grads with no concept of interference fits, o-ring groove experience, and no plastic design principles or their Chinese supplier "designed" it for them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ProjectPHI from Keeps me from eating dirt, literally While the cap is a bit fiddly, it does it's job of keeping mud and worse out from the nozzle. Also, the uninsulated bottles fit better in compact FS frames like my top fuel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by k3riddle from Loving the new design The new bottles are far superior to the older versions, the tops feel much sturdier and rugged. It can be a little difficult to twist the valve open but I would assume this will break in. I am going to replace all my bottles with the new ones.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Dale from Excellent New Design After a suggestion from my LBS I used these for the first time on LandRun100 Gravel Race and it was so great to actually drink water without having to taste the dirt. I have used them for several rides where it was extremely muddy and it works fabulously. Thank you for making this.

Rated 4 out of 5 by fastfootsteps from A good review from a short person's perspective I was confused when I read reviews indicating injuries to fingers from this bottle. I do struggle a bit when opening this while riding with one hand, so I leave them set to open while riding. To give a bit of objectivity to this review I will tell you a bit about my hands. I wear a size 7 ring, they have zero calluses, and I have worked a dsk job my whole life. Additionally my girlfriend says they are dainty. The dirt cap is awesome. It stays on and can be removed for cleaning which is great. It is nice to drink water without mud or road grit being the first thing you taste. The size and shape of this 21 oz. bottle is great for size small bikes like mine. It works great mounted on the bottom of the down tube. Other bottles I tried were so long that It nearly contacted the tire leaving the top covered with grit. That is a thing of the past now. The engineering of the friction lock does leave a bit to be desired as indicated by other reviewers, however this may be to prolong the life of the bottle, As one engineer I can't judge the engineering and experience of an industry I don't work in. For the price this is a great product and I would recommend it highly!
