Rated 5 out of 5 by from 7 months use impressions , mini review I've been using it for 7 months now. Not only for big rides or in trail centers but also for short 2-3hour rides. I think the best thing is I don't feel the backpack while I am riding. Corners, steep stuff, jumps, nothing matters. In my opinion the belt do the job. Strong material, comfortable. I am quite big guy (200pounds) and I don't feel pressure on by back. You can find lighest ones in the market but I am sure nothing gonna fit that well. Price is high even with some discount but this is pack for years. I crash with them couple times, backpack didnt move and carry a impact. Can't wait for test it on some long multiday adventure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Big, burly and capable. I've had my share of big packs before from many brands and this is one of the very best. Plenty of room, I love the sliding double chest straps and the carrying capacity, but the very best part is the new waistband! The velcro and added width really takes the weight off your shoulders and improves overall comfort. The removable "Enduro" padding can double as a SAM Splint for first aid scenarios. Here's what I carry in my original KUDU 18 https://www.adventure-journal.com/2015/10/whats-in-a-mountain-bike-guides-pack/ and I stuff even more in this baby. No it's not light, but when you're going for the long haul and want to have the room for it all, this is the go to Guide pack. Just ask any Western Spirit Cycling guide for the past two seasons.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Heavy, sturdy, secure This is the first hydration pack I've purchased in about 8 years. It's replacing an old Dakine Nomad which has been an ok bag. I wore this on two rides for a combined 3 hours. Right off the bat, something was poking me in the back. I thought I had a splinter or sticker on my shirt, it was really uncomfortable. At the end of the 2nd ride, I noticed that the mesh back panel edge was sticking out beyond the main seam that runs down the back panel. It was these mesh fibers that were poking me in the back, about a 5" long section on one side. I returned the bag and am hoping that the replacement I get doesn't have this problem. The bag carried a lot better than my Dakine over rough terrain. It doesn't bounce around. It's worth noting that there are two chest straps and a "kidney belt" velcro belt and buckle. The bag feels snug and secure when on. There are enough pockets to keep stuff organized. I like to bring a load of tools and spares on some rides, in addition to lots of food and an additional layer. And water for the dogs. This bag is big enough for everything that I like to carry, without being too big. I can't attest to the heat it may add, since I was riding in temps in the 50s. I almost always wear a bag when riding and I do a lot of backpacking so I don't think that I'm as sensitive to the heat that wearing a bag brings. I'm the type of guy who scrutinizes nearly every product I buy, reading multiple reviews and going to stores to physically try stuff out before purchasing. Having said that, I still think that this is one of the best bags for my needs. Since nothing is perfect though, here are my critiques. Manufacturing issue notwithstanding. 4 main negatives are- 1. the chest straps can't be moved down very far, so bigger riders may find that they're too high. I'm 6'1 195 lbs and the M/L fits me well. 2. the hydration tube retention clip seems to be only right side, it can't be moved to the left side. I had my old bag setup so that it was on the left and it will take some getting used to having it on the right. 3. weight- this bag is HEAVY empty, like other reviewers have said. I'd like to think that this is because it's durable. 4. price- this bag is stupid expensive, but not as much as EVOC, which I was tempted to buy. All in all, this bag is a huge improvement over my old Dakine Nomad, I'm just hoping that my replacement bag doesn't poke me in the back.
