Rated 2 out of 5 by DanMcD from Works well, but failed in less than a year Started using the reservoir in an Ultimate Direction hydration vest, and it worked well. I like the over-sized tube and large shut off on the valve. Removable tube is nice for cleaning, but the connection seems like another possible failure or leak point. I used it about once per week on my long runs. After using for about 10 months, during a run my back started getting very wet and I discovered a small leak from what looks like a crack in the plastic where the tube meets the bladder. This seems like a low stress area, so not sure how that crack formed. The warranty process is a real pain. I would have to mail the reservoir to Camelbak, and they will assess whether it is a material defect or "wear and tear" issue. Not worth my time and shipping expense just to have them tell me it isn't covered.

Rated 2 out of 5 by DavidA from "Leak Proof" seal not so much. There is already water leaking from the seal on the cap and I've only used it twice. I don't see anywhere on the Camelback website where you can purchase just the cap or an extra O-Ring for the cap....you have to buy the whole replacement bag.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Isabelle from Excellent size and usability This is a great reservoir for attaching to a PFD for kayaking. The size, cut-off lever, twist-opening lid are first-rate. The only drawback is that you really need a pouch carrier to attach to the back of the PFD, especially if the PFD is like an Astral Seawolf and has only a little tab inside the back netting to attach the prongs of the reservoir. The prongs are likely to bend and break after a while and it is a huge hassle to attach the reservoir.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Indy 5000 from End of line for Camelbak I received this 1.5L Crux as a replacement for an older 2L Omega that had broken. For starters it only holds 1.5L as opposed my other one which held 2.0L. The quick connect is a nice feature, but as others have mentioned it looks vulnerable to failing. I do not like the longer handle on the new reservoirs. It is very awkward to hold while filling up the reservoir. The new on/off lever on the bite valve is harder to use than the previous model. And lastly the 2 hooks at the top are unable to keep the reservoir in place while being used in my UD running vest. The UD vest has a velcro attachment point up towards the top that runs through the hooks at the top. The hooks are too narrow for them to stay put. Within a mile of running the reservoir is bouncing all over the place. Sadly this will be my last Camelbak product. There are other companies that are far surpassed Camelbaks quality, design, and functionality. Adios Camelbak. It was fun while it lasted.

Rated 5 out of 5 by mcph2 from 1.5L Reservoir The high quality one comes to expect from Camelbak. Fits perfectly in my old daypack that just doesn't wear out. I think it's the original Camelbak.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Mollyb from Garbage I have had camelback hydration systems for years. This year I bought a new 1.5L and the 3L. The 3L leaks and this one tore after about 2 months of use. These things used to last for years and now they don’t even work or fall apart. Also the bladder style is very odd- too wide for my old camelback pack so instead of it going in the hydration pocket it just floats around my pack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jerry Murphy from Great product! The Crux reservoir works great and is a nice improvement over the original 1.5L reservoir my hydrobak pack came with. The Crux has the easily detachable tube, which facilitates quick and thorough cleaning.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LucyLuM6 from The Best I think Camelback resrvoirs are the must durable and easist to use. Unfortunately it doesn't fit my old camelback very well due to the long handle, but I can still use it.
