Most hydration packs are not
Most hydration packs are not large enough to bike your groceries home. This pack is just the right size. The air space in-between your back and pack is the baum.

Good pack
The only thing that disappoints me about this and every other pack on the market is the bottom is not reinforced. Crab-walking and butt sliding wears a hole on the bottoms of packs easily. Why not a tough canvas or some other reinforcement in this area. Every time a replace a pack it’s for this reason.

Good and Bad
Disclaimer- I rec'd this pack as a free replacement for my Peak Bagger. I really liked the Peak Bagger but it developed a rip/hole in an area on the top of the pack on a seam and is no longer made. Kudos to Camelbak for standing by their warranty! The Fourteener 32 carries well and felt comfortable during my initial use while hiking up Mt. Washington. The side pockets hold a water bottle well and there is enough space for a day's worth of equipment in most cases. The outside stretchy pocket is useful and a nice feature. I do not use water bladders, but if you do, much of this pack's space will be taken up and the opening will be very narrow to really put much in it. The zippers and the thread toggle attached to the zippers seemed very cheap and not heavy duty. The padding in the hip belt and shoulder straps is not very cushiony or substantial. The car key holder is no longer an actual clip but some kind of weird shaped plastic hook that did not hold my keys. Camelbak has definitely cut some corners to lower their manufacturing costs and you can tell if you feel an older pack from like 15-20 years ago to what they are putting out now. Overall, I don't feel the quality is there for a pack that lists for $175 even if you do get a water bladder. This pack has not been out long, so time will tell how it holds up durability wise. I rate it 3 out of 5 stars as I would have expected better quality from Camelbak based on the price they charge and the quality of the first pack I bought from them many years ago.
